  • HEALTHY – This mango sorbet is made with fresh fruit and a low carb sweetener, which means it’s a very healthy, dairy-free dessert.
  • LOW CARB – There’s no sugar in this recipe. Instead, I’ve used my favorite low carb sweetener to keep the carb count down.

Ingredients and Substitutions for Making Ninja CREAMi Mango Sorbet

You need just two ingredients to make mango sorbet in the Ninja CREAMi! Here they are along with a few ideas for substitutions.

Monk fruit sweetener This is my favorite low carb sweetener, but feel free to use your preferred sweetener. Just remember, if you substitute sugar in place of the monkfruit, your total carb count will be much higher, and it won’t be a low-carb mango sorbet recipe.

Mango slices I used frozen mango slices in this recipe, but you could also use fresh mangoes if you like. I prefer frozen because then I don’t have to spend time peeling and slicing a fresh mango. They can be messy! You could also use canned mango slices if you can find them. But be aware, they may be canned in sugar or juice that has a high carb count.

Remember!

If using frozen mangoes, they must be thawed before preparing the recipe. Yes, I know it’s odd to thaw the mangoes, then mix them with the sweetener, then freeze them again. But this ensures two things: the sweetener is fully dissolved and evenly distributed, and more importantly, there is no empty space between mango slices which could cause damage to the machine during blending.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. If using the monk fruit sweetener, mix it together with the thawed mango slices in a medium bowl. Stir until the sweetener is evenly distributed over the mango slices and is beginning to dissolve.
  2. Pour the mango slices into a CREAMi pint, packing the slices together as you fill the pint. Ensure that there are no gaps between slices, and they don't go over the MAX FILL line, then put the lid on it.
  3. Place the pint in the freezer, making sure it's level. Freeze for 24 hours.
  4. Take the pint from the freezer, remove the lid, and place it in the outer bowl of the Ninja CREAMi. Install the paddle in the lid and attach lid to the outer bowl.
  5. Plug in the Ninja CREAMi unit and install the bowl on the base.
  6. Press the power button and select SORBET.
  7. When the unit shuts off, remove the bowl from the base and remove the lid.
  8. If the sorbet is crumbly, then reattach the lid and install the bowl on the base again. Select RE-SPIN. You can re-spin the mixture twice if needed.
  9. Once the sorbet is at the right consistency, serve immediately.
