ingredients for homemade maple pecan ice cream, including milk, heavy cream, sugar, maple syrup, pecans, and protein powder

  • Roasted pecans

How to Make Maple Pecan Ice Cream in the Ninja CREAMi

Here are the basic steps to make maple pecan ice cream in an ice cream maker.

Step 1 If using the protein powder, mix it with the milk and heavy cream until there are no lumps.

Step 2 Add the pure maple syrup and cane sugar to the milk and cream mixture until the sugar is fully dissolved.

Step 3 Pour the base mixture into a Ninja CREAMi container. Freeze for at least 24 hours.

Step 4 After freezing, process the base mixture on the ICE CREAM setting. Then dig a hole in the center all the way to the bottom of the container and pour in the pecans. Process on the MIX-IN setting.

Serve immediately with your favorite toppings and enjoy!

Tips & Variations

Switch in a plant-based milk and use coconut cream for the heavy cream.

You could use low carb sweeteners like erythritol and monk fruit in place of the cane sugar. Also swap the maple syrup for 1 teaspoon maple extract.

More pecan pieces and a drizzle of maple syrup are good ideas, but how about upping the flavor a bit with some crumbled bacon! See below for other variations.

Here are a few variations to try:

  • Maple bacon pecan ice cream – add a couple tablespoons of crumbled bacon in with the pecans in the MIX-IN step
  • Maple bourbon pecan ice cream – swap a couple tablespoons of the milk with bourbon
  • Maple butter pecan ice cream – toast the pecans in 1-2 tablespoons of butter on the stove before adding as a MIX IN

Or combine all the suggestions for a flavor-packed maple bacon bourbon butter pecan ice cream!
