Ingredients & Substitutions for this Strawberry Banana Milkshake Recipe
Gather these ingredients, so you can whip up this strawberry banana milkshake recipe in the Ninja CREAMi in no time.
Strawberry Ice Cream I used this Ninja CREAMi strawberry ice cream recipe in my milkshake because I had some leftover. But if you ate all yours (no judgment!), you can certainly use another strawberry ice cream in its place.
Banana You can’t really substitute anything for the banana, since it’s a main flavor here. But I would highly recommend using a very ripe banana. As a banana ripens it gets sweeter, which beautifully complements the strawberry flavor in the ice cream. It also makes seems to make a smoother milkshake.
Vanilla Almond Milk I use vanilla almond milk because the vanilla adds a creamier taste in the recipe. But feel free to use your favorite milk here. You could use plain cow milk, half-and-half, or even heavy cream. You could also use a plant-based milk such as oat, soy, cashew, or plain almond milk. Whichever you choose, I would recommend using an unsweetened variety since there is enough natural sugar in the banana and strawberry ice cream.

How to make it vegan or dairy-free If you’re using this keto strawberry ice cream recipe, then follow the suggestions in the post to make it dairy-free. Otherwise, use your favorite store-bought vegan or dairy free strawberry ice cream in this recipe.
How to make it low carb I don’t think this recipe can reach keto status because of the fresh banana, but it could be considered low carb. To ensure it stays low carb, use a low carb or keto strawberry ice cream, like the recipe above, and stick to a low carb milk like the almond milk listed in the recipe.
