Ninja FOODi Chicken Pot Pie with Biscuits

Classic comfort food, this Ninja Foodi Chicken Pot Pie is done in about 30 minutes. Peas, carrots, potatoes, and chicken mixed in a creamy broth and topped with canned biscuits will become a weeknight dinner favorite.

What you’ll love about this recipe:

  • FAST – This chicken pot pie in the Ninja Foodi cooks up in about 30 minutes. But if you use canned chicken or rotisserie chicken from your local grocery store, you could make it in about 20 minutes!
  • VERSATILE – There are lots of variations for other veggies, other “crusts” and even meatless. See the Ingredients and Tips sections below for some suggestions.
  • HEALTHY – I grew up eating frozen pot pies from the grocery. I love them! But let’s face it, the ingredients aren’t the best. This air fryer chicken pot pie uses mostly whole ingredients, so is much healthier than the individual frozen ones.

Here’s the full list of ingredients for this air fried chicken pot pie recipe. See the recipe card for exact measurements, and check below for some substitution ideas.

Ingredients List

  • Butter
  • Chicken breast tenders
  • Peas & carrots, frozen
  • White potatoes
  • Chicken broth
  • Milk
  • Arrowroot flour
  • Cold water
  • Poultry seasoning
  • Salt & pepper
  • Canned biscuits

Substitutions

Chicken The recipe calls for chicken breast tenders, because they cook up fast and are lean cuts of meat. But you could use any part of the chicken you prefer.

Vegetables I used the traditional veggie combo of corn, peas, carrots, and potatoes, but you could use just about any vegetable you like. I’ve made this recipe with broccoli, sweet potatoes, parsnips, rutabagas and a few others I forget.

This is a great recipe to use up whatever you have leftover in the refrigerator or pantry. Fresh or frozen work, but the cooking time may need to be adjusted.

Arrowroot flour This is used to thicken the broth and is my preferred thickener. Other options include cornstarch, wheat flour, and agar agar.

Canned biscuits I used canned biscuits for convenience, but you could whip up a batch of homemade biscuit dough, too. Other options are crescent rolls, pizza dough, and pie crust.

Time Saving Tip!

You can have this Ninja chicken pot pie recipe on the dinner table in about 20 minutes by simply substituting leftover, canned, or even rotisserie chicken.

To make this chicken pot pie dairy-free, substitute avocado oil for the butter and non-dairy milk for the milk. Or omit both. You will also need to make sure the biscuits that you use are dairy-free.

You can leave out the chicken altogether and make a veggie pot pie, or simply sub your favorite meatless chicken product for the chicken tenders and swap the chicken broth for vegetable broth.

To make this chicken pot pie recipe gluten-free, make sure you are using a gluten-free thickener like the arrowroot flour that’s suggested. Also use gluten-free biscuits.
